Writing Content

Many web design companies want their clients to have their own content before designing a site for you. That means they want the text or verbiage and any images needed for your business (with the exception of stock photos). I do not require my clients to have the written content, I am happy to work on that with you. If you do want to get started on writing your own verbiage here are some tips and tricks to get you started.

Home: For the home page you want to introduce your business. The home page is a nice place to have a couple of call-outs. These Call-outs are going to be small sections with titles and blurbs that direct people to different parts of your website. Some ideas for call outs would be ‘Shop Now’, ‘Learn About (Company Name)’, ‘Who We Are’, ‘What We Do’, ‘Contact Us Today’, etc.

About: Tell us how and why you started your business. Tell us why your business is unique and what makes you different. Any certifications can be mentioned on this page.

Services: Bulleted list of services. If you want to add a description to the services that can be done as well.

Products: List the products, maybe include images of what products you have. If we are creating an e-commerce website we will need in-depth information about each product. I will have a product worksheet to give you to get that started.

Consider any previous advertising you have done. If you have any print ads or articles, videos or brochures that will help me put together content for you.
